Figure Facebook Dominates Social App Usage Weekly Active Usage of Leading Social Apps, 2018
Regardless of the press Facebook is receiving of late, it continues to hold the majority of global (surveyed) attention. Facebook owns all top four social apps by weekly active usage (WAU) penetration, with core platform Facebook maintaining its lead with of consumers using the platform weekly in 2018. WhatsApp comes in second with WAU and Facebook Messenger and Instagram complete the top four, with and WAU respectively. The first non-Facebook ranking app is Twitter with only WAU.
