About the role
The world of entertainment has never before, experienced such profound and rapid change. No single entertainment industry can afford to stay solely in its lane with cross-entertainment, competition for attention and the rise of the creator economy are going to reshape its future through equal shares of disruption and disruption.
We are looking for someone who understands these dynamics and has bold ideas about how they will evolve. Someone who understands how entertainment value chains operate, has a vision for what will come next and an appetite for disruptive, forward-looking thinking.
We want someone who has great critical thinking skills, can formulate industry shaping concepts, and provide thought leadership in this exciting new space. It goes without saying, that you must also be highly data literate and able to construct clear, insightful and actionable narratives around data.
You will cover topics such as audience behaviour and characteristics; fans, fandom and identity; technology and business model innovation; market sizing; entertainment culture; company strategies and format evolution.
While we are looking for someone able to analyse the entertainment market as a whole, proven expertise in one or more industries (e.g. games, podcasts, video, publishing) would be advantageous.
You will be part of MIDiA’s expert analyst team, serving our client base of leading global companies. Ideally, you will have at least three years of working as an industry analyst or in a commercial, strategy, marketing or business analysis role within the entertainment industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a key part of MIDiA’s entertainment and fandom research output and thinkingSupport MIDiA’s entertainment research and consulting work, including writing regular reports, conducting research, creating datasets and writing blog postsDeliver a robust and cohesive programme of research, analysis and data that forms part of MIDiA’s entertainment outputEnhance MIDiA’s thought leadership, particularly in the areas of fandom, cross-entertainment, the creator economy, media consumption and consumer behaviourPresent to clients, speak at conferences, and conduct media interviewsContribute to ideation and concept building within the research teamContribute to thinking and analysis that helps our clients drive success in the digital entertainment marketplaceThe ideal skills and experience for this role are:

We are looking for a Head of Research to manage and shape our analyst reports and research. This role will report directly to the company Founder.

We want someone who understands how entertainment value chains operate, has a vision for what will come next and an appetite for disruptive, forward-looking thinking.
The head of research will oversee the entirety of MIDiA’s analyst output and will work with the company founder to help ensure our research is forward looking, mission critical, highly differentiated and helps our clients build market-shaping strategies.
You will work with our super-talented analyst team to ensure our thinking remains ahead of the pack and shaping the industry narrative. What we are not looking for is someone who wants to do more of the same.
Ideally, you will have at least three years working as a research director or head of research; or at least five years working as an industry analyst focused on the entertainment industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with analysts during concept ideation and report planning stages to ensure high-quality, high-impact research outputCarry out final research edits on reportsEnsure annual report output is aligned with client and prospect needsOversee delivery of a market-shaping body of research that truly moves the needle on cross entertainment, fandom and creator economy thinkingEnsure a consistency of voice, thought and approach across our outputWorking with our Production Manager to ensure monthly report output is delivered on time and to the highest standards across coverage areasCollaborate with the Production manage to analyse both client report readership statistics and blog views on a monthly basis to help shape future report strategyWork with Head of Data to ensure we have relevant, high-quality datasets to support research outputHelp/guide what we present at conferences, based on feedbackGuide blog output (to align with testing new ideas, promoting reports, etc)Work with analysts to enable ongoing knowledge exchange, constructive improvement of ideas, themes and concepts.Train new analysts, and ensure that existing analysts have a complete MIDiA analyst skillsetThe ideal skills and experience for this role are:

MIDiA Research, the leading provider of analysis, advisory and data for digital entertainment, is seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic consultant, focused on music and entertainment, to support all of our consulting projects and activities, reporting to MIDiA’s Head of Consulting.
About the role
The position will cover conducting research and analysis, preparing and presenting project outputs, and project management.
The successful candidate will contribute to the MIDiA team’s wider thinking, brand development and all-round culture and work life.
Essential experience and skills
● 5+ years of experience in a consulting or research environment
● Proven consulting project management skills: ability to lead projects end-to-end
● Proven track record of using multiple research techniques: interviews, surveys, secondary analysis
● Strong data analysis skills, using MS Excel
● Advanced presentation and reporting skills using MS and Google suites
● Strong creative problem-solving and ability to apply concepts, models & frameworks
● Ability to synthesise large amounts of data and information into actionable insights
● Solid business writing and thought leadership – blogs, reports, white papers
● Stakeholder management: internal stakeholder management and client relations
● A meticulous attention to detail to ensure high quality of outputs
● Excellent communication and presentation skills - written and verbal, with the ability to deliver insights, results and recommendations confidently to clients
● A good collaborator who can also comfortably work autonomously

This is a full-time salaried role. The role is hybrid, we would prefer the candidate to be London based or commutable distance to London at least once per week.
